Charmed Wedding Blog

There is a new wedding blog in town and we have had a couple of our weddings featured!

This past weekend, photographer Frank Carnaggio was featured with one of his weddings from last summer, for which we were the videographer.  Blaire and Rush's wedding was spectacular, filled with lots of details (and the cutest kids ever), pulled together by wedding planner, Meghan Cease of M. Elizabeth Weddings & Events.  You can read all about the wedding here

Then yesterday, one of our all-time favorite brides, Sara Sanderson Franklin and her husband Drew were featured for their wedding at Double Oak Community Church with the reception at The Club.  The best part (in our opinion!!!) was that their wedding video highlights were featured too!  Read the blog post here

Natalie and Ryan at St. Elias and Embassy Suites

What do you get when you take approximately 700 people in nice clothing ready to have a great evening?  Natalie and Ryan's wedding guests! Needless to say, it was standing room only for their beautiful ceremony at St. Elias. And really standing room only for their reception at the new Embassy Suites in Hoover, but that was because EVERYONE was on the dance floor! It was wild! But we wouldn't have it any other way.

The day wouldn't have gone near as smoothly without the direction of Beverly Andrews with Engaging Celebrations.  Beautiful flowers everywhere by Carol Riley with Lillie's.

Other vendors included:

Studio G Photography

Compositionz

Enjoy their wedding day highlights!

Sara and Drew | Double Oak CC, The Club

We are pretty lucky that we have such great couples at Main Street.  They are great and their families are usually great too!  But it will take a lot to top this couple.  Miss Sara (who knows everyone in the city of Birmingham it seems) and her beau, Drew were married in a romantic ceremony at Double Oak Community Church.  With almost 500 guests, it is easy to see the number of people this couple impacted.  The Club was the reception location and was flawless as usual.

We were able to work with an outstanding photographer, Alyson with Eternal Reflections by Alyson. She was so much fun and the photos turned out amazing!   Check them out here.

We love wedding planners!  How could you not?? They keep the day running smoothly and efficiently, they look out for you throughout the day, and they generally make the day better.  As much as we love planners, we love planner extraordinaire, Beverly Andrews with Engaging Celebrations!  So our course with her in charge the day was almost easy. Almost. Ha! Geoff and Lamar with JAMM Entertainment were both in attendance as DJs for Sara and Drew's reception.  They had everyone dancing and having a great time, which makes the footage look so fun!

The only thing that went wrong the whole day was Sara's lipstick kept staining Drew's lips and cheeks!!!

Other vendors involved:

The Something Blue Shoppe

Bridesmaid’s Inc.

Brides & Bow Ties

BBJ Linen

Vintage Auto Chauffer

Mr. Burch

Porcelain & Pink and Morgan Ashley Studio Salon

We are so excited to share the highlight film from Sara and Drew's wedding!

Grace & Wilson (and Honey Boo Boo Child) | Montgomery, AL

How could you not love this couple?  From Grace's sweet demeanor to Wilson's handsome grin, they are a wonderful couple.  AND Grace does an AMAZING impression of Honey Boo Boo!!!!  It says so much about her personality that she had so many wonderful bridesmaids that traveled far and wide to be in her wedding.

A terrific team was in place for their wedding, despite the torrential downpour throughout the wedding day.  Jerrod Brown (and Frank Allen) of Jerrod Brown Studios were snapping up a storm, Beverly Andrews of Engaging Celebrations was trying to keep us all in line.  It really is a difficult job sometimes.  The rehearsal dinner, held at Wynlakes Golf and Country Club, was beautifully decorated by Carol Riley with Lillie's.

Enjoy this highlight video from their wedding!

Maggie & Philip | Vestavia Hills CC

We met Maggie and Philip through their awesome wedding planner, Beverly Andrews of Engaging Celebrations.  Their wedding weekend was going to be something pretty special and we were honored to be able to document every fun moment!

I had heard through snippets of conversations with Carol Riley of Lillie's Flowers that the flowers were going to be out of this world, with a heavy emphasis at the rehearsal dinner.  I also had heard that Park Lane in Mountain Brook was going to be transformed with the help of drapery and lighting by Andy Tolar with Design Productions.  All I can say is WOW!!!!!!! I am in LOVE with those chandeliers!

The wedding day begins with a calm bride, which is always nice!  Jerrod Brown of Jerrod Brown Studios, has the wonderful abiltiy to make a bride calm anyway.  It was H-O-T, but we made the best of it.  What can you do?

The ceremony was held at Vestavia Hills UMC with the reception at the Country Club up the street.  Great director at the church, by the way.  It is not often that I walk into the reception venue and my mouth drops open at the site of the cakes.  Shannon Pardo of Sweet Spot Confections is someone to keep your eye on!  I loved the bride's cake for it's elegance and the groom's cake was just impressive with the details.  They definitely were the talk of the reception.  Compositionz from Music Garden had everyone up on the dance floor all night.  I even got a little booty bump from the groom.  Take that, John!

Tiffany + Craig: Palisades Church of Christ | Ted's Garage

Yesterday was our official 1st wedding of the year.  I say official because when you have a December 31st wedding, it really is like your last one of the year, but the first one too.

Everything about the day was absolutely beautiful for bride Tiffany and her beau Craig. She couldn't have asked for better weather and a more perfect day.  Greg Hawkins with Studio G was in his element to say the least.

We just fell in love with these two families.   I think when we get to film the rehearsal dinner it gives us a terrific insight into the family.  They were a very tight knit group with lots of babies everywhere!  I was in heaven.

But it just wasn't because there were babies around that the wedding weekend was so great, it really was a combination of everything.  I have to give credit to Beverly Andrews with Engaging Celebrations.  Her weddings truly are amazing!  I don't think people realize how much they are missing out on when they don't hire an experienced wedding planner.  From the vendor side, it couldn't be a better day and to see (and film) the relaxed expressions on the bride and her mother, then I know how much better the wedding day is for them too.

After a beautiful wedding ceremony at Palisades Church of Christ, the guests made their way over to one of our new favorite venues, Ted's Gargage.  Happy Catering had set up stations after stations of yummy food for the guests.  I loved how the band started the evening off with a dance for all of the fathers and daughters.  It really helped to get people to the dance floor and they stayed!

So the end of the night comes, the couple leaves in the bride's dad's restored Thunderbird.  Right after we run back in and get into a hiding spot.  No, we were not trying to stay at Ted's Garage all night, we were getting into place for a romantic proposal that was about to happen!!!  It was so exciting!  Take a look at the footage below.  The guitarist was the lead singer in the band, a groomsman, and the brother of the gal that is about to start planning her wedding!

Stephanie + Steven: Double Oak CC/LincPoint
A couple of weeks ago we were honored to be a part of the wedding of a great couple and their families.  Stephanie and Steven were married at Double Oak Community Church under the direction of Beverly Andrews with Engaging Celebrations.  It was actually Beverly's home church, so her husband, Jim, was running the sound and light board.  I do have a special thanks to him for upping the lighting just a bit for a light greedy videographer!!! Hee Hee.

After the very romantic ceremony, we all traveled over to LincPoint.  This was our first time working at this venue!  After 7 years, we don't get to work at new venues often, so it was so much fun!  Andy Tolar, Design Productions, had transformed this area into a beautiful masterpiece.  It was amazing! Geoff, with Jamm Entertainment provided the entertainment for the evening and kept everyone dancing!

If you are a follower of our blog, then you know that I LOVE to post sneak peak clips for our couples.  Normally, I will post fun dancing or a small edited portion of the couple's 1st sighting on the blog, this time I decided to post getting ready footage.  I didn't include all of the details from this couple's day in this edit (ie. wearing funny glasses with a mustache that moves up and down so that the her dad wouldn't cry when he saw her in her dress). One of my favorite clips is the expression on the bride's sister's face after putting on the veil.  How neat it must be to have a sister!

Taylor & Johnny: The Sonnet House
So I was told that in Beverly Andrews' (Engaging Celebrations) 15 year history of planning weddings, that she never had had a wedding rained out.  But it really did look like rain for Saturday, so a tent was ordered, set up and decorated.  When we arrived at the Sonnet House to start getting ready coverage for the beautiful Taylor, the weather was perfect!  And it stayed that way until they were leaving when a little mist started.  You couldn't have asked for better weather or for a more beautiful wedding!  Every detail was handled perfectly by Beverly and her staff.  I always say this, but when you have a professional wedding planner caring for your wedding, it runs so much smoother.  HIRE A PROFESSIONAL WEDDING PLANNER!

A few years ago, we worked with Angela Karen Photography for the 1st time.  We were so happy to be able to do so again this weekend!  And it was so much fun!  I know that we were able to get some amazing footage so I know they did too!

Olexa's crafted the most beautiful wedding cake, and of course, it was delicious!  For guest favors, Pastry Arts put 2 baby bites into a take home box!  Soooo cute!  Vince with FlowerStems arranged amazing flowers, with beautiful Fall colors.  And finally, all of the guests had a wonderful time dancing to Nationwide Coverage!
